What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complimentary therapy that has its roots in ancient Egypt, China, Africa and the native Indian tribes of America.
Based on the principle that the anatomy of the body is reflected in miniature of reflex zones on the feet. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of ‘imbalance’, and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively.
These blockages are usually indicated on the feet as little nodules or grainy deposits felt just underneath the skin. The deposits are made up of Uric Acid and excess Calcium, which build up in the body when the metabolism is not working as effectively as it could be.
The deposits can be broken down by the Reflexology which is not a massage but more of a pressure point technique. The broken down deposits are then carried by the blood and lymph to be eliminated from the body.

(Morning sickness, loss of bladder control, backache, anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems, water retention and cramps)
Reflexology is a complement to standard medical treatment and is not a replacement to medical help
A course of 4-6 treatments is recommended if you have not had Reflexology before. It is best if these are taken one a week, and once the course is completed, as and when a treatment is needed. The reason for this is that the body needs time to respond to the treatment and to return to a balanced state.
You will generally feel relaxed and well after a treatment; however everyone is different and can respond in different ways. Minor side effects are common after treatment but are an indication that the treatment is working, and the body is responding in a positive way. Side effects can include; increased urination, runny nose, headache, tiredness.
It is important to drink plenty of water after a treatment to help combat any side effects that may occur.
