Waxing and tinting

Waxing: further information

Ingrown hairs are more common with waxing, but these can be prevented with regular exfoliation and application of moisturiser in between waxing.

The skin may look reddened or have a faint rash for a few hours after waxing but this quickly fades. Re-growth hairs are usually finer than before. Subsequent treatments become less uncomfortable as the hair follicle weakens, and the re-growth is patchier.

It is important to take extra care after waxing, especially within the first 24 hours. When a large number of hairs are removed it can leave the skin more vulnerable.

Avoid sunbathing, sun bed treatments, sauna, steam and very hot baths for 48 hours. This is because the waxed area will be extra sensitive to heat.

Avoid swimming for 48 hours.

Avoid the use of perfumed products, soaps, perfumes deodorants etc on area waxed. It is recommended that you use antiseptic after wax lotion or Aloe Vera gel to reduce any irritation.
