Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complimentary therapy that has its roots in the ancient civilizations: Egypt, China, Africa and the native Indian tribes of America.
It is based on the principle that the anatomy of the body is reflected in miniature of reflex zones on the feet. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of ‘imbalance’, and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively.
These blockages are usually indicated on the feet as little nodules or grainy deposits felt just underneath the skin. The deposits are made up of Uric Acid and excess Calcium, which build up in the body when the metabolism is not working as effectively as it could be.
The deposits can be broken down by the Reflexology which is not a massage but more of a pressure point technique. The broken down deposits are then carried by the blood and lymph to be eliminated from the body.
