Reflexology

Benefits of Reflexology

Reflexology is a safe effective treatment for almost everyone. Apart from being a highly relaxing therapy to receive, it has shown to benefit the following:

It is recommended that reflexology be avoided during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, while the body is adjusting to hormonal changes. After this time expectant mothers can find Reflexology extremely helpful and safe in symptoms associated with pregnancy. (Morning sickness, loss of bladder control, backache, anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems, water retention and cramps)

Reflexology is a complement to standard medical treatment and is not a replacement to medical help

A course of 4-6 treatments is recommended if you have not had Reflexology before. It is best if these are taken one a week, and once the course is completed, as and when a treatment is needed. The reason for this is that the body needs time to respond to the treatment and to return to a balanced state.

You will generally feel relaxed and well after a treatment; however everyone is different and can respond in different ways. Minor side effects are common after treatment but are an indication that the treatment is working, and the body is responding in a positive way. Side effects can include; increased urination, runny nose, headache, tiredness.

It is really important to drink plenty of water after a treatment to help combat any side effects that may occur.
